My name is Timothy Ian Musgrave.  Born in 1975 in Sheffield I graduated from Leicester University in 1997.  Following my graduation I stumbled between sales positions and IT jobs in search of something that would make me feel valued in my life.  With ESL teaching I believe I have found that grail, a job that can make you feel like you are making a difference, helping people, broadening people's horizons.  I never thought I would find the job that would let me feel such a satisfaction and still be such a challenge.

My PDP - Portfolio

As a prerequisite to qualifying for any of the courses mentioned below I have had to provide evidence of my capabilities and proficiencies in the appropriate fields.  At the same time, in developing my skills and knowledge I believe this website will provide a platform for me to build on in my future development.  Consequently, these particular pages will hold the work that I have completed in my attempts to attain sufficient grades in the said courses and short articles highlighting my understanding and appreciation in the fields of ELT and ODE.

MA Online & Distance Education here

In 2009 I began a part-time course with the Open University in England.  The course is a masters in the field of online/distance education.  I chose this particular field due to my previous experience and fondness for all things technical.  Besides and above that I truly believe that online education has a bright future in my current career as an ESL teacher.
With the experience I hope to gain from the course I will look forward to bright prospects and believe I will have in my armour the tools needed to take English learning into the 21st century.

TESOL Diploma here

During the last year (2009-2010) I completed a Diploma course in TESOL with the Sheffield Hallam University.  A year long course, the Trinity Licentiate Diploma and the Sheffield Hallam Post-graduate Certificate in TESOL highlights my desire for Professional and Personal Development.  It is believed that my advancement in the area of teaching is a necessity if I am to call myself a professional.
The online and face-2-face combination now leaves me just one step away from a masters in TESOL.  This I hope to achieve in the near future, but for now my concentration is focused on working in BNU to widen my experience of teaching.
